how can we find details of an indepdent tattoo artist and painter on line when they're not particuarly famous?

We met a tattoo artist at the weekend, all we know, is that his name is bert, he’s from new zealand and he has paintings in some German galleries. He told us to look him up on line… we have… but we can’t find him…. any ideas where we might be able to look for him?

Help with what to do with old painting?

I found an old painting in my house, it was bought from an antique shop about 14 years ago by my mother. I’m pretty sure it’s an original, signed by the artist on the back. Was painted by George Graham in 1930. There was a artist of the same name at the same time but I don’t know if it’s the same artist, his paintings have been selling at auctions even up to as recent as this week. Having a hard time finding a whole lot of information on the internet. Has anyone any ideas how I can go about finding out if it’s a genuine work of George Graham? Or even if anyone has any info on what I do from here? Have no clue! Thanks in advance!

Does anybody know any artists that also rap?

I’m big into hip-hop and for my art GCSE we have to base our portfolio on a culture of our choice… I’ve chosen hip-hop.

One of the things we have to do is produce our version of other people paintings/sketches etc.
I know a rapper called chali 2na who does alot of painting but I need some other rappers that paint for me to study from (or painters that rap).

Any Idea’s?

Help from Painters PLEASE!??? Tapies, Boyle Family?

I am interested in fusing what I can only describe of as "Colour/Texture Field" paintings of eroded painted surfaces with graphic/reduced form shapes of countryside landscapes. The surface treatment aims to convey transience, as well as subverting ideals of beauty, as some ofmy studies look just limke neglected, decaying walls. ie. tapies, Boyle Familyetc. However, I wish to combine this with semi-architectural/graphic/photographic l of countryside barns and landscapes. I am finding this quite hard. I want the viewer to travel on a jouney of texture and form and perspectives in my paitnings. How can Icombine these different ideas succesfully? Could this be a lifes work?

As well as this subtle appreciation of texture, I also have ideas of conveying hidden depths, empathy for the negelected, secrets, through the use of crumbling layers of matte paint, treated with washes of dirty transparent paints to highlight impasto textures.

Sorry this is rambling, its just Im finding this veryhard

are there any particular tattoos associated to their artists?

especially historical paintings are tagged by their author, when you hear the name of the painting the painter also comes to mind. tattoos seem anonymous.

Where can an artist display work in Cambridge, England?

If i were an up and coming artist specialising in modern art on canvas, where in England could I expect to display my work, in particular where in the Cambridge area could I display my work with the hope of selling some paintings and enhancing my reputation as a respected international painter?

How do I put my paintings from Ireland into Australia?

I am a painter living in Ireland and was wondering whats the best route to go down if you want to sell paintings in Australia, what would be the best gallery to send them to? I have a lot of work but the buyers are few here in Ireland with the recession. Also some of the galleries here can be a rip off. The paintings are photorealism of Irish streets and dreamscapes in oils and acrylics.

How do I sell valuable artwork – I have been asked to act as agent for an artist who is a friend of family?

I have been given an opportunity to earn commission by acting as the agent for an established South American Painter. I have been sent 8 paintings, each measuring 1.5 x 1.3m approx, all very beautiful and stylistically distinct. I have no idea how to go about selling them. Do I need to frame them/put them on a backing frame first? Can I ask local galleries to display them? In the artists homeland they retail for between 1000 and 3000 pounds sterling (in native currency) and if I had the funds to collect artwork then I would certainly buy one. Please advise if there are any fees for displaying in galleries – any other ideas for marketing would be great
