How do you successfully paint over a recently painted wall?
I have recently (about 3 months ago) painted my entire house in magnolia. Yesterday I touched up on a few marks on the wall which had been scuffed/ knocked. You can now see the patches that I have painted over and it looks awful! How do I avoid this in future? And any ideas on how I can improve on what a mess I have made??

Which pale cream paint for our extension?
We want to paint our 4 room extension in a nice pale cream off/white shade that will go with everything. We have friends who used Dulux Gardenia and that’s nice but there are so many similar shades out there it’s really hard to choose from a colour-chart.
Has anyone here used this kind of shade of Dulux or Crown paint for their room(s) and can recommend it? Or any painter-decorator thoughts?
By the way, it must be Dulux or Crown and definitely not magnolia.

I want to decorate my new house.?
I moved into a new house. I am planning to fit a new kitchen. The living room, kitchen and diner are all connected by glass doors. So I want the whole area to be connected by similar colours. The walls are painted magnolia warm, a little more yellow. I have black appliances in the kitchen. I am planning to make the carpets biscuit colour.
I want to know what colours should I do for the

Does anyone know the going rate for a painter/decorator?
Hi,
I have an average size 3 bedroom semi.
2 living rooms, hallway/landing, 3 bedrooms have all been wallpapered, but I just need a painter to paint over the wallpaper magnolia. Most rooms are already, white or yellow.
How much roughly is the going rate???

What can I wash the walls with?
My living room walls are magnolia and are quite grubby (baby hand prints etc). I live in a rented house so I need to know what to use to not cause any damage. I don’t want to repaint! Would sugar soap do anything? It looks like normal house paint, I don’t know the difference between emulsion or any other paint. Thanks

We're thinking of painting our house-can you recommend "the right" colour scheme?
We’re painting our house beige (Magnolia), the windows are solid wood, so they will be dark brown, the fascias and gutters will be black (coloured apparently cost a bit).
Now, we have an arch above the door – I wonder, which colour would suit the beige and dark brown? We’re thinking either Royal Blue or Maroon….what are your thoughts?
Oh – and the roof will be most probably brownish.
Really appreciate any help – don’t want to get this wrong!
