Ideas for a summer feel all year round for a utility/conservatory room?
My house is open plan and there at the back there is an area which is very warm due to the sun trap i have in my garden so i can sit in a chair there and feel the warmth coming through the windows. I have glass doors also there so its a very nice room in the house. Thing is i want to paint it and refloor it and i want to do it with a summer theme so even in horrible rainy days etc the little bit of warmth can still come through the windows and brighten the room. I dont have an unlimited budget so it has to be something reasonable. what colour of paint? its cream just now and the living room is cream and chocolate on the arch seperating the rooms. The floor is an old stone floor which is terrible looking coz we lifted the laminate due to my dogs tearing it up. I would like to do something temp on the floor as i cant afford a proper floor until next spring & i would like to have something in place for this month as im starting a new job in october. Painting it myself is cheap.
I cant believe that i check back and find only 2 answers and they are from ***** wanting points for answering.
Good, yahoo must have removed the timewasters, its nice to see they do remove the edjits on occasion.

What is the best type and colour wooden flooring to buy for my house?
I am considering getting wooden flooring for my lounge and hall way.
However, I don’t know the right colour or type of wooden flooring that would be best suited. My living room is painted magnolia.
Can anyone help please? Thank You

What can I wash the walls with?
My living room walls are magnolia and are quite grubby (baby hand prints etc). I live in a rented house so I need to know what to use to not cause any damage. I don’t want to repaint! Would sugar soap do anything? It looks like normal house paint, I don’t know the difference between emulsion or any other paint. Thanks

My house is always cold, even in summer?
It can be 25 degrees outside, brilliant sunshine, and yet when I step foot in my house it’s chilled. It’s really depressing. In the winter the central heating is on full almost all the time.
The walls are painted plaster and there are two large rugs covering the centre of the dining room and living room, the floors of which are wood laminate. The sun doesn’t pour into the ground floor, but it’s not exactly a dark room. Any suggestions how I can warm it up?

What rates can i expect to pay a painter & decorator?
I’m after having my home painted from top to bottom – each room.
So that is a large hallway, a box sized toilet room, a box bedroom, two double bedrooms, two average sized bathrooms, a large and high ceiling kitchen/dining/living room.
A couple of coats of paint.
I’m just wondering how much i might expect to pay for the labour in the south of England?
Thanks
