Painting skirting boards with Satinwood paint that currently have gloss on them?
I currently have gloss paint on skirting boards in my house, and intend to repaint them with Dulux Trade Satinwood.
As it is self undercoating, can I apply the satinwood paint straight onto the skirting boards, or should I wet sand them first? I don’t have much time to do the job and would prefer to just clean the skirting boards and them apply the paint straight on, but if I have to do the latter then I am willing to. Advice is much appreciated. Thanks.

Where can i buy specialist paint?
Hi, I’ve just started a job for a painting firm who do up peoples houses. I’ve only been there for a few days so im on the supplies duty and have to go and get the paint and tools needed for each job. We are doing a house up north at the moment and the guy is a huge Newcastle fan and wants his kids room to be painted black and white stripes as a shrine to Newcastles toon army.
My boss has told me i need to get black and white striped paint for the walls but i cant get any anywhere. I dont want to ask my boss or collegues where to get it from as i dont want to come across as stupid and incompetant. If i cant even find the right paint on my own i doubt they will keep me on. I’ve trawled through the internet and hardware stores but no one seems to have it. There must be somewhere i can get it. i need it for the weekend.
To make it worse i’ve told my boss i’ve ordered it and its being delivered, if i dont find somewhere soon hes gonna know i’ve lied and sack me. PLEASE HELP!

Female Painters and Decorators – your views please!?
I have started up a business as a female painter and decorator covering Manchester and West Yorkshire. When I first had the idea everyone was so supportive and thought it was a novel concept but, despite being in Yellow Pages, having a catchy name (Decor Divas) and shoving flyers through doors, nothing’s happening. Everyone I’ve given cards or flyers to has been really enthusiastic and said they would definitely use a female decorator rather than have a man they don’t know in their house (sorry guys) but nobody’s calling. I’m totally broke so can’t afford big advertising ideas but I gave up my job to do this … so I’m just wondering – am I dilluded or was it a good business idea really? If so, do you have any ways I can promote my business without it costing me loads of dosh?

Could anyone give me advice on sexual assault whilst working at a customers house and not receiving payment?
Hi I wonder if anyone could help me, a person I no was sexually assaulted at a house he was painting, the sex offender did not pay him, he then took her to court for the sexual assault and is now applying for a small claims court, the work was unfinished due to the incident and the job was ended, is there anyone that could tell me if there maybe a way round this? Or if possible point me in the right direction to a website that could help?

The victim is saying that under the supply of goods and services act 1982 she does not need to pay for the work done, is there anyway round this?

Plz help question about painting?
How long on average would it take to paint a 2 bed apt, 1 wall in kitchen big enuf sitting room 2 bedrooms med size mostly wardrobes so not much wall to paint, a hall and a tiny bathroom 1 wall max ??? i have painters due which i did not arrange landlord did and wonder if it would be a week job or a few days, what do u think …..???? he said they will be there from 8-5 pm.

Just had the house painted by a company not happy about the standard of the work what can i do?
When the sales man came round we were told two work men would do the job and it take four days to do,it would be sanded down,primed,undercoated and glossed. They did not turn up the first day,they emailed us to say that the staff was ill one hour after they sould have started my partner had taken time of work to be their.Next day only one paiter turned up and did not sand down the wood but only scraped the wood down,and finished the job in 20 hours ! what sould i do

I am a face painter, when can I say I’m a professional at it?
I do get paid, and actually have studied methods and styles. But I don’t do it full time (I dont work at another job eother)

woman trying to renovate a house in rural France alone !!?
Can anyone tell me if it is neccessary to put knotting on new wood before staining? I have learnt from experience that you have to do it before painting but if it’s not essential before applying stain it will be one job less in amongst a mountain of things that I have to do !!Honestly…..I love this house but I am beginning to think that I must be insane to be doing this alone !!
